IMOK GOSPEL IS READY FOR MELVIN CRISPELL DEBUT
ALBUM SLATED FOR SUMMER 2009 RELEASE
Brooklyn, New York – What do Tye Tribbett, Hezekiah Walker, James Hall and Juanita Bynum all have in common?...
The answer is they all have the name Melvin Crispell credited on at least one of their CD projects. If the name “Melvin Crispell” doesn’t ring a bell, his songwriting credits most certainly will; Never Shall Forget (James Hall), Jesus Is My Help (Hezekiah Walker), Thy Name Be Praised (Dallas Ft. Worth Mass Choir), Caught Up (James Hall), Due Time (Timothy Wright & New York Fellowship Mass), Wonderful Is Your Name (Juanita Bynum/Hezekiah Walker) and countless others.
IMOK Gospel Music, the label that industry insiders are making one of the most talked about indie labels in the country, is at it again. The newest buzz out of the IMOK Gospel camp is the eminent release of one of the most sought after songwriter/producers of our generation, Melvin Crispell and his new choir Testimony.
Crispell, who most recently poured fired out of his fingertips playing the organ on Tye Tribbett’s recent smash hit album Stand Out, has apparently saved some heat for his own feature project. He enlists the help of the dynamic brass ensemble Mo’ Horns (Israel and New Breed/Fred Hammond/Angela Hall) and his Brooklyn band posse for this debut project recorded live in Charlotte, NC where his choir is based. The project will revisit a number of his former hits while introducing some incredible new material that’s sure to play in every iPOD in heaven.
Tease previews of the soon to be release single “REAL” already has the entire east coast jumping with delight. “I’ve been getting phone calls from all over the country” says IMOK founder and CEO Jonathan Hall. “People are really getting excited about Melvin’s project and I’m one of them.”
It’s official. Summer 2009 the church groove is back with a vengeance and the purveyor of this signature sound finally gets to share something with us that he never has before, his “Testimony”.

ANGELA HALL RECEIVES RAVE REVIEWS FOR NEW CD
BROADWAY STAR IS BECOMING A HIT SENSATION WITH GOSPEL LISTENERS
When a person with a B.F.A. in Musical Theater says they’re preparing for “The Great White Way” you think they’re talking about Broadway. But in the case of accomplished film and theater actress/singer/dancer Angela Hall she’s talking about making it to Heaven. And when you listen to her debut CD, Beautiful God, you’ll believe she’s well on her way. Upon hearing her sing live at his church, Bishop Albert Jamison (chairman of the Gospel Music Workshop of America) said “Now that lady’s taking it back to church!” Thank God for a gospel singer that’s not afraid to keep her music in church.
"As a debut album, Beautiful God is a momentous musical achievement." - BLACKGOSPEL.COM
"[Hall's] vocals, at best, is as joyful in expression as Judy McAllister and as adventurous in riffs as Melba Moore. Beautiful God is a colorful portrait of Brooklyn's rich gospel culture and an enjoyable musical experience done with taste and high-definition color." - PRAYZEHYMN ONLINE.COM
"I was blown away by the music ministry of this anointed woman of God, so humble, so sincere and so ready for the next level: IMOK Gospel Music recording artist Angela Hall...her project entitled Beautiful God is a wondrous praise offering by a beautiful woman. I encourage each of you to purchase the CD...you will not be disappointed." - GOSPEL REVELATIONS
"Hall is arguably at her best and most convincing during the quieter moments on Beautiful God , when she can flex her voice in ways that showcase her gift and training. At the same time, she puts the Pentecostal songs over with pure evangelistic gumption and human stamina." - BOB MAROVICH, THE BLACK GOSPEL BLOG
